COMMUNICATIONS
Anchorage
had Alaska's first radio station (1924) and first television stations
(1953). Today Alaskan communities are served by radio and television
as well as newspapers. The most influential dailies include the Anchorage
Daily News, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, and the Juneau Southeast
Alaska Empire. The state's first commercial newspaper was the Alaska
Times, initially published at Sitka in 1868.
